Since the early 1990s, Nicholas has specialised in the development of innovative fuel cell technologies, earning a reputation as a pioneer in the field. His extensive work has not only been recognised by the EU Commission, where he has served on various committees, but also by leading academic institutions and government agencies across the USA, UK, Scandinavia and Continental Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nicholas\u2019s career has been marked by practical achievements and industry leadership. As the Principal Network Director of Science Programs for UK independent television, he brought scientific innovations to the public eye. He played a pivotal role in developing ZeTek, which became Europe\u2019s largest fuel cell company, and he has collaborated with leading scientists and academics worldwide, including partnerships as far-reaching as China and Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nicholas has made significant contributions to academic research, supervising PhD candidates and authoring influential papers and currently researching at Liverpool University. Nicholas\u2019s influence extends beyond academia and into real-world applications. He was instrumental in the development of the first commercial fuel cell vehicles, earning the Frankfurt Automobile Show prize for most advanced vehicle technology in 2000. His ongoing projects include rail, maritime and stationary applications in a number of countries.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 77, Nicholas remains actively involved in hands-on development, design and innovation in fuel cell and hydrogen production technologies. His ability to convene and collaborate with the leading minds in the field ensures that he continues to drive forward the frontiers of renewable technologies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p><strong>Isabela Tatu <\/strong>is a visionary leader in the maritime and energy sectors, with over 25 years of experience driving transformative change. As the co-founder of Clean Marine Shipping, a pioneering tech startup specialising in hydrogen fuel cell technology that utilises waste as its primary source, Isabela is at the forefront of revolutionising maritime operations and ports with innovative, sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recognition of her significant contributions to the industry, Isabela was named a Top 25 Sustainability Champion of the Year 2024, acknowledging her outstanding efforts in advancing sustainability initiatives. Additionally, she was honoured as one of the Women in Hydrogen 50 of the Year 2024, celebrating her influence and leadership in the hydrogen energy field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isabela is also an active participant in maritime decarbonisation and digital transformation initiatives. She is a Maritime and STEM Ambassador, advocating for maritime and STEM education, and promoting awareness and engagement among youth and industry professionals.
