MarRI-UK, the University of Southampton and ACUA Ocean invite you to a Showcase of Hydrogen Fuels for the Maritime Sector<\/strong> \u2014 highlighting the potential of hydrogen as a clean maritime fuel and its role in the next generation of uncrewed systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us as part of London International Shipping Week on the 17th September 2025 at St Katharine Docks for an afternoon of presentations and panel discussions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

14:30 – 15:00: Hydrogen lessons learnt through USV PIONEER<\/strong>, Ben Nicholson, Hydrogen Engineer, ACUA Ocean<\/td><\/tr>
15:00 – 15:15: Hydrogen fuel cell data for smarter decision making<\/strong>, University of Southampton<\/td><\/tr>
15:15 – 15:45: Panel discussion on the future of hydrogen fuels in the maritime industry <\/strong>
featuring Ben Medland, Drift Energy and Jehan Kanga, RUX Energy. More panellists will be announced soon.<\/td><\/tr>
16:00 – 17:00: Tours of USV PIONEER at HMS President<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>
17:00 – 20:00: Food, drinks and networking<\/strong> with a range of maritime technology startups in attendance<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Following the presentations there will be an opportunity for a first-hand look at USV PIONEER, which will be berthed at nearby HMS President, opposite the iconic Tower Bridge, followed by food, drinks and networking until 8pm.

PIONEER, a hydrogen-powered USV, is the first vessel to receive regulatory approval for a remotely operated and unmanned vessel (ROUV) under the Maritime and Coastguard Agency\u2019s (MCA) Workboat Code Edition 3 (WBC3) Annex 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
