This consortium represents key players in maritime technologies, collectively accounting for a substantial portion of global shipbuilding output and fleet tonnage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Supporting Zero-Emission Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MarLEN aligns closely with the goals of the <strong>Zero Emission Waterborne Transport (ZEWT)<\/strong> partnership, which aims to develop and demonstrate zero-emission solutions for all main ship types and services by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key objectives of MarLEN:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strengthen the European Research Area in waterborne research by launching new transnational activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster collaboration and synergies between national and regional maritime research programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support transnational cooperation and knowledge exchange to address climate and environmental challenges in the maritime sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase the impacts arising from the ZEWT partnership towards the achievement of zero emission waterborne transport in Europe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish a self-sustaining network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why MarLEN matters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The maritime sector faces urgent climate and environmental challenges, and projects like MarLEN are crucial for accelerating the transition to sustainable, zero-emission technologies. By enhancing transnational cooperation and consolidating efforts across Europe, MarLEN will contribute to shaping a cleaner, more innovative future for the maritime industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three UK partners are contributing to this important initiative: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/councils\/innovate-uk\/\">Innovate UK (IUK)<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mseinternational.org\/news\/?story_id=913&amp;e_story=1\">MSE International<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong>MarRI-UK<\/strong>.
