Through a total of 4 waves of Responsive Research calls, the UK National Clean Maritime Research Hub (UK-MaRes Hub) aims to fund up to 30 world-leading responsive research projects. Funding for approximately 7 projects is available under Wave 2
The full economic cost (fEC) of each successful project (excluding any project partner contributions) can be up to £50,000, of which the UK-MaRes Hub will fund 80% fEC (as is standard for EPSRC funded calls). In addition to the funding requested from the Hub, as a requirement for this call, we also require equivalent match funding to be leveraged from your project partners on a 1:1 basis.
Proposals are invited to address 5 priority research areas:
1. Real-time vessel data communication
2. Risk and uncertainty regarding marine regulations and policy implications
3. Novel energy-saving devices to improve vessel efficiency
4. Novel cost-effective nuclear propulsion systems
5. Autonomy for vessel efficiency
Deadline for applications: 5th November 2024 at 16:00
