MarRI-UK is pleased to announce the appointment of Orla Kane as its new Administrator. Orla, who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Painting and Printmaking from The Glasgow School of Art in 2021, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role.
Since graduating, Orla has distinguished herself in the education sector, adeptly handling administrative responsibilities for multiple high-stakes contracts. Her extensive background includes stakeholder liaison, financial administration, and quality assurance activities, making her a perfect fit for the dynamic needs of MarRI-UK.
As the Administrator of MarRI-UK, Orla undertakes a broad range of duties that are pivotal to the execution of the organisation’s plan and objectives. She will act as the primary point of contact for all MarRI-UK stakeholders, ensuring fast and responsive communications. Her responsibilities include managing databases, organising meetings, overseeing financial administration, and supporting budget management and promotional activities. In addition, she collaborates closely with the MarRI-UK Programme Managers to manage projects, ensuring the administrative aspects are meticulously handled.
This role is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of MarRI-UK. Orla’s contribution is expected to significantly bolster MarRI-UK’s mission to drive forward advancements and maintain its position at the forefront of maritime research and innovation.
