MarRI-UK Maritime Round Up #107

Welcome to the MarRI-UK weekly roundup!

This week’s roundup highlights a maritime sector navigating rapid change, shaped by geopolitical uncertainty, accelerating energy transition and growing demand for skills, innovation and clarity. UK activity points to a growing emphasis on long-term capability, with funding calls and skills programmes reinforcing government-industry collaboration. At the same time, market outlooks for shipbuilding, defence and energy underline the need for certainty as geopolitical pressures continue to shape investment decisions. Globally, momentum is building around offshore wind, clean fuels, nuclear and digitalisation, with projects moving from ambition into delivery. Together, these developments paint a picture of an industry balancing near-term pressures with strategic investment in future readiness.
