Welcome to the MarRI-UK weekly roundup!

Last week, UK maritime saw progress on defence and energy, with the keel laid for the Royal Navy’s first Fleet Solid Support ship and construction beginning on the UK’s first offshore CCS project. Globally, maritime security and energy resilience remained prominent as disruption in the Strait of Hormuz continued to affect shipping and oil markets. Meanwhile, Maersk and Lloyd’s Register launched a study into nuclear-powered transatlantic container shipping, while wind-assisted propulsion gained further momentum.
