MarRI-UK is happy to announce the results of the MarRI-UK Micro-Company Membership Access Scheme. Seven applicants applied to join MarRI-UK via the scheme. and following a panel review, three companies have been accepted to be our first cohort of Micro-Company members. These companies are:
- Newcastle Marine Services: a Newcastle based consultancy specialising in ships, vessels, and offshore structures. The company operate as an outsourced engineering department for owners, operators, and the repairs & construction industries.
- Oasis Marine Power: a marine engineering company seeking to develop offshore charging and green refuelling solutions to support the maritime transition to zero emission propulsion.
- Walker Subsea: specialising in marine and subsea engineering services. The work is divided into two categories: 1) provision of engineering services for marine & offshore renewable energy projects and 2) carrying out R&D activities using Automotive Technologies adapted to the subsea environment
They will join MarRI-UK from 1st April 2024, and be involved in MarRI-UK activities in the first two years through in-kind contribution, such as attending events/workshops on behalf of MarRI-UK, organise events for MarRI-UK, which are to be agreed with each company separately. We would like to congratulate them for becoming our latest MarRI-UK members, and we look forward to working with them over the next few years.

Located at the former Swan Hunters Shipyard, we develop game-changing technology and engineering solutions for the global offshore construction industry. This includes design and build of the novel Subsea A-Flux® electrical machine in partnership with ORE Catapult. We are delighted to join MarRI-UK as members through the micro-company access scheme. Working with its extensive network, we aim to forge new partnerships and leverage its combined expertise to solve the complex challenges of maritime electrified propulsion systems.

MarRI-UK have supported this and many other innovative projects aiming to find solutions needed to decarbonise the maritime industry and we are excited to continue this collaboration towards that aim.”
