Dr Xue (Amanda) Xu joined the MarRI-UK Core Team as the Programme Manager in July 2024.
Amanda obtained her BEng (Hons) degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering in 2013 at the University of Strathclyde, and then continued her studies through doctoral research and received her PhD in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 2020. Before joining MarRI-UK, she has previously worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering (NAOME), since 2019. She has participated in delivering seven research projects, including EPSRC funded projects on offshore wind energy development (INNO-MPP and HOME-Offshore) and H2020 funded projects for zero-emission shipping transition (TrAM and ShipFC). She has also actively participated in several H2020 and one EPSRC proposal preparation, focusing on clean shipping transition and climate change impact on maritime sector.
As the MarRI-UK Programme Manager, she will manage MarRI-UK projects and programmes, create and distribute weekly newsletters, drive business development activities by engaging new members, and establishing a national and regional presence, promote and lead knowledge exchange activities, and identify and secure research and innovation funding with our members.
