Welcome to the MarRI-UK weekly roundup!

This week’s developments highlight continued momentum across maritime technology, clean energy, and defence innovation. Decarbonisation remains a central driver, with growing investment in offshore wind, alternative fuels such as methanol, ammonia and hydrogen, and supporting infrastructure including bunkering and CCS. At the same time, advances in autonomy, robotics, AI-enabled systems, and digital connectivity signal steady progress toward smarter, data-led maritime operations. Increased funding calls, skills initiatives, and supply-chain programmes further reflect a sector preparing to scale. Overall, the trajectory points toward integrated, low-carbon, and increasingly autonomous maritime ecosystems shaping the industry’s next phase of growth.
