Welcome to the MarRI-UK weekly roundup!
The UK maritime sector is accelerating its energy transition, industrial resilience and defence innovation. Offshore wind remains the strongest growth area, with floating wind moving toward commercialisation and the UK targeting 43–50 GW by 2030. Supply-chain localisation is increasingly important, but the new 50% out-of-quota steel tariff could raise project costs. Defence is rapidly adopting autonomous systems, AI and subsea technologies, while nuclear and decommissioning remain strategic priorities.
