Description:
At UCL, we develop innovative methods to guide the design and implementation of alternative marine power and propulsion systems, including advanced hybrid fuel cell and battery systems. Our comprehensive approach involves optimising the design of these systems to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness while carefully considering their impact on overall vessel performance and interactions with other onboard systems. In addition to conceptual and design work, we also conduct rigorous testing by implementing and evaluating scaled hardware models. This validation process ensures that the proposed system architectures meet performance expectations and reliability standards before full-scale deployment.
