Welcome to the MarRI-UK weekly roundup!
This week saw continued momentum behind the UK’s hydrogen ambitions, with further steps taken to develop a national transport and storage network aimed at underpinning industrial decarbonisation and long-term energy security. Investment activity also picked up across offshore renewables, as new funding commitments supported additional wind capacity, grid connections and supply chain capability. In the maritime sector, UK shipyards reported fresh commercial and defence orders, signalling steady progress in domestic shipbuilding activity. Meanwhile, global naval operations remained active, with exercises, deployments and procurement updates across multiple regions underscoring sustained fleet modernisation and evolving strategic priorities.
