Welcome to the MarRI-UK weekly roundup!
The maritime sector saw notable progress across defence, decarbonisation, autonomy and offshore energy. The Royal Navy achieved Full Operational Capability for the Martlet missile system, while industry strengthened AUKUS-related collaboration and advanced maritime testing capabilities. Decarbonisation efforts accelerated through developments in alternative fuels, wind-assisted propulsion and carbon capture, supported by evolving IMO guidance. Continued growth in offshore wind, maritime autonomy, digital transformation and shipbuilding, alongside new funding and skills initiatives, reinforced the UK’s maritime competitiveness, resilience and innovation leadership.
